| Jacklyn Jose, The First Filipina To Won The Best Actress Award At The Cannes Film Festival! Posted: 22 May 2016 08:48 PM PDT  The Filipina actress Jaclyn Jose won the best actress award at the Cannes film festival 2016 for her role in Brillante Mendoza's "Ma' Rosa." In the said film, Jaclyn Jose plays the role of a mother who was forced to sell drugs just for her and her family to survive. "I'm at a loss for words! I am so surprised and moved. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the Jury members. I thank the director Brillante Mendoza, whose instructions I simply followed," She said in her speech on Monday morning. She claims that she really didn't expect that she'll won the best actress award and stated that she just wanted to spend time with her daughter and to walk on the red carpet in the Cannes film festival. Little did she know that she'll be winning the best actress award. She also said in an interview that she made a huge adjustment in this film because she had to adjust from being a rich and spoiled mother to a struggling mom who needs to sacrifice everything for her family. "I was just sitting there watching the stage how nice it... is and how come in the Philippines we can't make this, just these simple things and then they call my name. So I got surprised. I'm so happy really, really," Jaclyn added. " But of course I'm proud so proud of our film. We just don't know how the people would react or will like our film but us, we know that we did our best and we know that we have a good film." She said She also thanked Brilliante Mendoza for the wonderful film. She stated that she's really proud of their film! |

The real life couple Anjanette and Gervin managed to prove to the world that Love can prevail in a talent competition. Power Duo was able to get a 100 percent of the combined votes of the viewers and the judges together in the live final performances on the Got Talent stage. They did a wonderful dance performance of Ikaw Lamang which made the judges give them a standing ovation. Robin Padilla, one of the judges of the show said, When love talks, everybody listens. However, not all stories about having their hair washed at the salon is great. A particular woman named Elizabeth Smith suffered stroke after having her hair washed at her favorite salon. This happened because the angle and degree of the chair and the way her back was tipping over to the sink. The incident happened two weeks after she had her hair washed. According to the doctors, the neck of Elizabeth was bent backwards. It was hyper extended which resulted to a vertebrae artery to be sliced off. A blood clot happened and it resulted to stroke. Now, Elizabeth lost her vision and mobility. Almost $250, 000 were spent in her hospital bills hoping for a fast recovery. She has plans of suing the salon. |

Posted: 22 May 2016 05:19 AM PDT  One of the members of UA Mindanao who is a finalist of the 'Pilipinas Got Talent' ended up in a wheelchair after one of their stunts have gone wrong during the finals night of the audience. It happened after he failed to complete the back flip which was supposed to be the highlight of their performance but her crash. The member who had the accident was Bornok Mangosong. The judges Angel Locin, Vice Ganda, FMG and Robin Padilla still managed to give them praises for what they did. Robin said that the group did not fail but they managed to show how stunts really work.  |
